Citable summary: labeling machines cost $600–4,500 semi-automatic, $1,500–4,000 desktop automatic, $6,000–15,000 fully automatic, around $9,000 double-sided, and from $25,000 for rotary hot melt; all factory-direct indications pending final confirmation.
How to read these bands: the low end of each range buys a standard configuration for a common container and label. The high end adds servo label feed, premium sensors, stainless frames, custom fixtures or certification (the levers listed further down this page).

Seven bands, each with what you get, who it fits, and the models that anchor it.
An operator places each bottle; the machine wraps, tamps or rolls the label, ±0.5mm at 15–30 pcs/min: XL-T801 round φ10–150mm, XL-T805 square/flat, XL-T807 ±0.2mm on flat surfaces. See semi-automatic models & prices.
Self-feeding small-footprint units: MT-320 / MT-330 for round bottles, MT-210 for flat surfaces, MT-211 with a paging conveyor for cards and pouches. Compare bottle labeling machines.
Conveyor-fed, ±1mm, 40–300 pcs/min: T921 wrap-around (40–120), T922R starwheel positioning, T923 horizontal small-bottle, plus T931/T932/T936 for flat, paging and top-bottom work. Explore automatic labeling machines.
T961 single-side, T962 double-side, T963 combo round+flat: 60–120 pcs/min with paired press plates that hold square and flat bottles steady. See double-side models · square-bottle troubleshooting.
FT-600 prints date, batch and barcode at line rate, priced on your print engine, data source and label; T-180 / T-190 waybill applicators for parcel lines. See print & apply systems.
12-station rotary for round bottles at 12,000–15,000 BPH, 16-station for ovals; servo label feed to 100 m/min, glue applied at the label edges. See hot melt lines · hot melt vs PSA total cost.
Tapered bottles, wire and cable, bottom labeling, three-panel wraps; the fixture is quoted as a line item, then archived so repeat orders skip the tooling. See custom solutions · tapered-bottle guide.
Two machines can look identical in photos: these eight levers move the number.
| Lever | Budget end | Premium end |
|---|---|---|
| Automation level | operator places each bottle (semi-auto) | conveyor-fed, no-touch (automatic / rotary) |
| Drive & traction | stepper feed | servo label feed (up to 100 m/min on hot melt) |
| Sensor class | standard photoelectric | SICK / Datasensor incl. ultrasonic for transparent labels |
| Speed range | 15–30 pcs/min | 40–300 pcs/min · 12,000–15,000 BPH rotary |
| Tooling | standard round-bottle setup | engineered jigs for tapered, square, curved containers |
| Frame & finish | painted carbon steel | stainless / washdown-grade for food & pharma |
| Data integration | pre-printed labels only | thermal-transfer print & apply, coder linkage, vision |
| Certification | CE baseline | UL 508A / CSA versions for North America, compare |
Decision order: container → label → speed → budget, see the selection guide.
The sticker price is rarely the landed, running cost. Budget for these eight before you compare offers.
| Cost item | What it covers | How to keep it down |
|---|---|---|
| Custom fixtures & tooling | jigs for tapered / square / soft containers | archived drawings make repeat orders tooling-free |
| Label consumption & liner | cost per 1,000 labels, liner waste | OPP hot melt can undercut pressure-sensitive per bottle, TCO math |
| Spare-parts kit | sensors, belts, rollers | buy with the machine; later spares dispatch in 48h, parts diagram |
| Sea freight & insurance | FOB vs DDP gap | compare both quotes; DDP folds freight into one price |
| Import duty | Section 301 scenarios for US buyers | confirm HS 8422.30 classification before budgeting, China buying guide |
| Clearance & inland | broker fees, last-mile delivery | DDP removes the surprise line items |
| Installation & commissioning | engineer days on site | English manuals + operation videos + remote sessions cut it to near zero |
| Downtime risk | a stalled line costs more than the machine | FAT with your bottles before shipping, how FAT works |
One-line rule: FOB stops at the Chinese port; DDP stops at your door. Always compare offers on the same term.
A used European rotary can list around $28,400 on resale marketplaces, tempting next to a $25,000 new hot melt line. But the used machine arrives with unknown wear, no FAT on your bottles, obsolete control parts and no warranty.
A new factory-direct machine costs similar or less, and includes the FAT video, a spare-parts kit, English documentation and lifetime support. For most buyers the new-machine math wins; see the buying-from-China guide.
Where used can still make sense: if you find a used machine of the same brand your line already runs, spare-part familiarity and operator training carry over. In that case, demand the maintenance log, inspect the wear parts in person, and run a test on your own bottles before any money changes hands.
| New HiPaks | Used European | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $600 – $25,000+ by class | ~$28,400 (rotary, marketplace ref.) |
| Warranty | 1 year + lifetime support | none |
| FAT on your bottles | included, video proof | unlikely |
| Lead time | 7–10d semi-auto · 15–35d auto | immediate (if it still exists) |
| Spares | fresh, international brands | obsolete-parts risk |
The five technical inputs our engineers need to quote a real number instead of a range.
Ship your bottles and labels and we go one step further: a free test-run video within 48 hours of arrival, with the accuracy readout on your own product. The quote then matches a machine already proven on your line.

Illustration: if hand-labeling 4,000 bottles a month costs two operators a combined $2,000 in wages, a $6,000 automatic labeler pays for itself in roughly three months, then keeps saving on every bottle. Your numbers will differ; run them through the calculator instead of guessing. And if you label at beverage volume, the adhesive decision changes the payback too; see hot melt vs pressure-sensitive total cost.
Factory-direct semi-automatic labelers run from $600 to about $4,500. Light desktop models (MT-50, MT-130) sit at the low end; floor-standing precision units like the XL-T801 (±0.5mm) and XL-T807 (±0.2mm) occupy the middle. Every figure is an indicative range; your exact price is confirmed after we review bottle, label and speed.
Automation level, servo vs stepper label feed, sensor class (standard photoelectric vs SICK ultrasonic for transparent labels), speed range, custom jigs, frame grade and certification all move the number. A $6,000 machine and a $15,000 one can look alike in photos: the difference shows up at FAT and after 10,000 hours.
DDP adds ocean freight, insurance, US customs clearance, duties (Section 301 where applicable) and inland delivery into one landed price; FOB stops at the Chinese port. We quote both terms on request so you can compare true landed cost; see the buy-from-China guide.
It is quoted as a visible line item, not hidden in the machine price. Once built, your jig drawings and sample parameters are archived at the factory, so repeat orders skip the tooling cost entirely. That is why odd-shape projects get cheaper after the first order.
Desktop units in the $300–800 band are typically resold imports with limited sensor options, no factory acceptance test, no jig engineering and minimal support. Workable for hobby volume; risky when uptime matters. Our semi-automatic line starts at $600 with FAT testing, English documentation and lifetime support.
Standard terms are 30% T/T deposit and 70% T/T balance before delivery. Alibaba Trade Assurance and L/C can be arranged on request; DDP adds freight, duty and clearance to the quote. Payment route shifts the total only through fees; we itemize it, and the FAT video always comes before the balance payment.
